The 2018-19 South Brunswick Parent Academy (SBPA) workshop series begins the new year with its first workshop, “What’s Math Got to Do With It? Helping Your Child Develop a Mathematical Mindset” from 7-8:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 at Crossroads Middle School North, 635 Georges Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.

Attendees will learn how to help foster a mathematical mindset in their child/student that will lead to his or her academic success, especially in math. In addition, attendees will learn about the language and behavior (supported by brain research) that will encourage and foster a positive mindset toward math, as well as practical, everyday strategies, which can be implemented at home as parents play, study, cook and even travel with their children.
