John P. Stevens High School Band Program to hold winter concert Feb. 13

The John P. Stevens High School Band Program will present its annual Winter Concert, open to the public, at 7 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the school, 855 Grove Ave., Edison. 

Under the direction of Andrew DeNicola and John Zazzali, the program’s Symphonic Band, Freshman Band and nationally-recognized Wind Ensemble will perform.

Forty students were selected through audition in December to the Central Jersey Region Band; four of those students were selected on a second instrument. More recently, 28 students were selected through audition to the All-State Band; one student was selected on a second instrument. In addition, nine students were selected to participate in the All-Eastern Honors Band, the largest number from any one school in New Jersey.
