JACKSON – Staff and students at the Christa McAuliffe Middle School in Jackson are hoping community members will help them win $25,000 by “exercising” their online voting skills from now until Feb. 28 to gain the most votes through a program called Project Fit.

“It only takes a moment a day to vote online, but that small gesture will impact the health and happiness of our students for a very long time,” Principal Debra Phillips said. “We try very hard to find ways to support our students through grants and we are hoping the community will help us be competitive in this incredible opportunity.”

The grant is sponsored by ShopRite and Dannon yogurt and is called “Project Fit America.” Phillips said the grant would go toward indoor and outdoor physical education equipment, a new physical education curriculum and teacher training.

Individuals may vote once a day, every day, per email address. The top four schools out of 70 which obtain the most online votes will win the grant. The voting period began Feb. 2 and runs through Feb. 28.The link is available on the McAuliffe School website.

The address for voting is https://schoolgrantswithpurpose. When voting, be sure to use the Jackson ZIP code 08527.
