Second annual food truck and music festival to benefit muscular dystrophy

The second annual MDA Eats N Beats food truck and music festival to benefit The Muscular Dystrophy Association will be held at the Roebling Museum in Roebling on April 20.

What brought in over 1,700 people and raised over $13,000 for the MDA last year will return to the Roebling Museum with an expanded event this year.

With more variety in music, additional family games and activities and an expanded beer garden with the addition of wine, the MDA Eats N Beats event is working to make a fair type atmosphere.

The event will begin with a 5K run throughout the town of Roebling.

The event will also feature “Goodwill Ambassadors.” These are children and young adults afflicted with various forms of Muscular Dystrophy, and its lead ambassador is Roebling native, Gia Graziano.

“[Gia] was born with a rare disorder called neo natal myasthenia gravis. It’s a rare form of congenital muscular dystrophy,” said Sal Graziano, Gia’s father. “Gia is wheelchair bound and enjoys driving her power chair around. She also enjoys playing with her tablets and DVD player. She loves movies and spending time with her cousins. She also loves playing music on YouTube. Gia is very loving and likes to cuddle.  We sometimes call her GMack as a nickname. Gia attends county special services school.”
