Two juveniles from Jamesburg have been charged in a Feb. 3 shooting that took place in the borough.
One juvenile, 17 years old, is charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public building, and possession of a weapon during a drug scheme, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief James J. Craparotta of the Jamesburg Police Department.
The other juvenile, 16 years old, was charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
It should be noted that under the law, complaints signed against juveniles are not public records and cannot be released, according to the statement. Their identities are being withheld because of their ages.
On Feb. 3, Jamesburg police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Franklin and Warren streets. No one was struck by the gunfire.

A preliminary hearing was held on Feb. 5 before Superior Court Judge Marcia Silva. The juveniles were ordered to be held by the court, according to the statement. Juvenile hearings are not open to the public.
