The craft fair is back again in Cranbury Township this month.
The craft fair, which will celebrates its 22nd year, has been organized to help benefit the students and teachers of the Cranbury School.
The fair, which will be held March 9 and 10 at the Cranbury School, is set up by the Cranbury Education Foundation.
According to the foundation, the mission is to be a partner that connects school, business, and community members to enrich the educational experience for Cranbury School students and foster community involvement.
“The Cranbury Education Foundation is dedicated to larger projects around the school,” the organizer, Raegan Johnston, said. “Last year they bought 3-D printers for the Cranbury School, the year before that the foundation got a hydroponics system for the children. The system grows plants in a water based solution. All the money raised from this event goes back into the school.”
More than $400,000 has been raised for the Cranbury School over the years through this event.
The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 9 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 10. Johnston and Cassie Shea are organizing the event and have been participating in the fair for several years.
“We started our process back in October,” Johnston said. “We gave all the crafters until January to apply. The Cranbury Education Foundation look over each and every application. They decide which ones are best for the show. We do our best to put together a diverse, interesting and exciting group of crafters that everyone will enjoy.”
She said the fair had about 400 craft vendor applications. They selected a little more than 100 of those vendors for the fair.
“We have a pretty big footprint throughout the school on the event days,” Johnston said. “We take up the cafeteria, the auditorium, and gym. We also have people scattered throughout the passage ways that bring you to and from the bigger spaces.”
The admission at the door will be $5 for adults, $3 for seniors 65 and older, and free for children under the age of 12.
There will be more than 100 booths throughout the school. Foundation officials said thousands of people attend the event annually.
“We get a great response from the town itself, but also from people all over,” Johnston said.
She said she hopes everyone that comes has a great time.
“I hope we are able to raise a lot of money for the school again so that we can do some new and interesting projects,” Johnston said.
