Metuchen resident and local quilter, Jennifer Strauser had her work featured at QuiltCon 2019, an international modern quilt convention that was scheduled to run from Feb. 21-24 in Nashville.

Held annually by Modern Quilt Guild (MQG), the organization is a nonprofit that supports and encourages the growth and development of modern quilting.

Strauser is a modern quilter, who has been quilting for 18 years. She stays actively involved in the quilting community through memberships in local and national quilt guilds. Strauser contributes to blogs, magazines and social media and has showcased her work on www.dizzyquilter.com.

“I’m so excited that my quilt was accepted for QuiltCon this year,” Strauser said. “It is my first time exhibiting a quilt at QuiltCon, and I am honored to have been selected alongside some of the world’s top modern quilters. I am so proud to be a part of this incredible community and have this opportunity to share my work and contribute to the movement.”

This was the first time QuiltCon has been held in Nashville. This year’s show featured the best in modern quilting design and workmanship.

“We’re so excited for QuiltCon’s first-ever show in Nashville, and even more excited to showcase some truly amazing quilts,” says Alissa Haight Carlton, executive director of the MQG. “The QuiltCon juried quilts really demonstrate how innovative and design-focused modern quilting has become, and it’s thrilling be able to feature the best in modern quilting on this international stage.”
