Parsons Elementary School held its Family Math Night on Feb. 21 to share learning experiences between students and their parents. Beth Yuhas, math coach, said the goal is for parents to see how they can interact with their children in every day math activities, which helps them connect math to real life. She said it also helps adults feel more comfortable when helping their children with schoolwork. Dozens of families in the K-5 school took part in activities such as breakfast math, shape activities, recipe measuring, card and dice games, Shape Sudoku and clock reading.
