Since his arrival to the United States in the early 1990s, he has studied, trained, conducted research and worked at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus, and the New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities, Staten Island. He continued clinical training at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center and Sisters of Charity Health Care System, both in Staten Island, and then at New York Hospital Flushing Medical Center, Flushing, Queens.

For many years, Michalewski provided exclusive urogynecologic services for hospitals in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale, serving as director of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery for South Florida Women’s Health Associates, in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
