Colonia Learning Center receives 4-star quality rating

Colonia Learning Center, an affiliate of the YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge & South Amboy (MEWSA) and the first Star-Rated learning early childhood program in Woodbridge, received a 4-star rating for its successful completion of the rigorous, research-based Grow NJ Kids quality rating program.

Grow NJ Kids is New Jersey’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). It offers child care and early learning programs access to training, professional development, staff scholarships for continuing education and targeted technical assistance. Professional raters visit the program to review quality standards and then program participants receive ratings – up to five stars – by meeting an extensive list of quality benchmarks, according to information provided by the Y.

The rating will help further the school’s mission to provide quality child care for all children.

Colonia Learning Center, located at 400 Inman Avenue in the Colonia section of Woodbridge, provides high quality care and education for children ages 2-and-a-half through 13, offering preschool and kindergarten readiness programs, school age child care for all Colonia elementary schools and Colonia Middle School, and various enrichments.
