CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, has named James Matera, DO, FACOI, as its new senior vice president and chief medical officer. Matera has been on staff at CentraState Medical Center for more than 20 years. While serving in a leadership role with CentraState, Matera will also retain a small clinical practice which will help him remain aware of the challenges facing physicians on a daily basis and will help him guide the changes CentraState will pursue in the interest of its patients.

Weichert Real Estate Affiliates Inc. has been named as one of the fastest growing franchises in North America by Entrepreneur magazine in its “Fastest-Growing Franchises of the Year” list for 2019. Weichert Real Estate Affiliates Inc. was ranked No. 131 on this year’s list, an annual ranking of the 150 fastest growing franchises. The company, headquartered in Morris Plains, is one of only three traditional real estate franchises to appear on the 2019 list. This year’s list of franchises was compiled from its 2019 “Franchise 500” list and was based on the number of new franchise units added in the United States and Canada from July 2017 to July 2018, as verified by Entrepreneur magazine. The “Fastest-Growing Franchise” ranking follows Weichert Real Estate Affiliates Inc. reporting a third consecutive year of new office growth in January, which resulted in the brand’s office footprint expanding 22 percent since 2015.
Advanced Wellness of Marlboro recently partnered with the Marlboro School District to hold a series of wellness days for students and staff members. The plan was to speak with students at the elementary schools and middle schools and to present some common mistakes children make with food choices, to address their questions and to offer faculty and staff members wellness opportunities, said Christine Jinks, a certified holistic health counselor at Advanced Wellness.
Topics discussed included best choices for breakfast; healthy lunches; shopping for and preparing foods; optimal after-school snacks; and how drinking certain beverages may not be good for children, with healthy alternatives offered.

massages for each faculty lunch period, and provided healthy snacks and an opportunity to address all healthcare concerns and questions from faculty and staff members.
“Our purpose at Advanced Wellness is to create happy and healthy lives for the members of our community. Good habits start at a young age. If we can plant good seeds and provide some simple, practical strategies for living a healthy life, hopefully we will make an impact,” said Dr. Joseph Cilea of Advanced Wellness.
School district officials said feedback resulting from the partnership with Advanced Wellness was overwhelmingly positive and provided an environment where staff members’ wellness was considered to be a top priority. Officials said the district looks forward to future partnerships with Advanced Wellness.
