Former New York Giants wide receiver Stephen Baker, “The Touchdown Maker,” will be on hand with remote control aircraft and virtual reality equipment, according to a press release.

Children can work on building a project with the help of Home Depot staff. Girl Scouts from Troop 0423 will be selling cookies.

Donations collected at the model train show will go toward supporting and honoring local
veterans with events such as a “PTSD and Veterans Services” program on May 7 at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, Manalapan, and a free Veterans Day breakfast in November, according to the press release.

The mission of the advisory committee is to connect local veterans with key resources available to them and their families.

According to the advisory committee, for a returning veteran, it can be a difficult transition from a combat zone to life at home and that is why the Center for Veterans at Manalapan was created.

The Center for Veterans at Manalapan is the newest extension of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs-Lakewood Vet Center and is hosted by Manalapan through the Manalapan Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee.

The Center for Veterans at Manalapan is open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at
the Manalapan Community Center. Services for veterans include readjustment counseling
(group, individual and couples counseling) and help registering with the VA for benefits.

Free guitar lessons for veterans are offered on Monday mornings, according to the press release.
