East Brunswick 7-Eleven sold winning lottery ticket

EAST BRUNSWICK–A $262,873 winning Jersey Cash 5 jackpot lottery ticket from the March 14 drawing was sold at 7-Eleven, located at 120 Old Stage Road, East Brunswick.

The winning numbers were 02, 08, 12, 38 and 40, and the XTRA number was 2, according to a statement from the New Jersey Lottery.

Acting Executive Director James Carey said in the statement, “We are thrilled that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at 7-Eleven #10950. The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for selling the winning ticket. Overnight, they have become one more ‘lucky location’ for the very fortunate lottery winner.”

Carey said there were 377,665 tickets purchased for the drawing. By adding XTRA, for an additional $1 per play, winners are able to multiply their non-jackpot prizes by the XTRA number drawn.

For correctly matching four of the five numbers drawn, 41 ticketholders won $730 each and 10 others won $1,460 each with the addition of XTRA. Moreover, for correctly matching three of the five numbers drawn, 2,376 ticketholders won $14 each and 421 others won $28 each with the addition of XTRA, according to the statement.

Lastly, 5,323 ticketholders each won $2 for correctly matching two of the five numbers drawn with the addition of XTRA on their purchase, according to the statement.
