Carmina Burana is one of the most frequently performed choral works of the 21st century, and the ever-popular “O Fortuna” movement has become a staple in today’s culture, often used to signal intense dramatic situations in film, TV shows and advertisements.

Although Orff imagined the work to be a “scenic cantata” staged with dance, instrumentation and magical images, it is most typically performed in concert halls in traditional cantata fashion solely with chorus and orchestra.

The unique partnership between the Chorus and the Roxey Ballet brings Orff’s original vision to life. Performed with original choreography by dance company founder Mark Roxey, Orff’s towering music comes alive with visual imagery. Soloists, two pianos and percussion will round out the performance.

Performances will take place at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal, NJ. Tickets for premium seats are $38 for single tickets; $35 for seniors; and $32 for groups (10 or more tickets).

Tickets for regular seats are $32 for single tickets; $30 for seniors; and $28 for groups of 10 or more. Student tickets are also available for $15. To reserve your tickets, visit www.monmouthcivicchours.org or call 732-933-9333.
