Five months after it was closed for repairs, the bridge that carries Old Trenton Road over Bridegroom Run in West Windsor Township has reopened, Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes said.

The bridge was reopened March 25. Work on the replacement bridge began in October 2018, following a $1.6 million contract awarded to Marbro Inc. of Long Branch in September.

The bridge on Old Trenton Road, between Newport Drive and Colt Circle, was considered structurally deficient because of the poor condition of the culvert.

The new bridge is a prefabricated, three-sided culvert, supported on a pile foundation. There are two 12-foot-wide travel lanes and a 5-foot-wide sidewalk on the north side of the bridge.
