Buoyed by the success of its first Restaurant Week in September, Lawrenceville Main Street is hoping that “foodies” will return to sample the menu for the second Restaurant Week, set for April 7-12.
The Acacia restaurant, Chambers Walk Cafe and Catering, Fedora Cafe and Bistro and Vidalia are offering a week of three-course prix fixe meals – $20 for lunch and $35 for dinner.
Restaurant Week is being made possible by the sponsorship of the Bank of Princeton, said Kelly Edelstein, Lawrenceville Main Street’s executive director. The nonprofit group is in charge of revitalizing the business district.
Restaurant Week is an extension of Lawrenceville Main Street’s year of art and community programming, centered around the sculpture garden in Weeden Park, next to the U.S. Post Office, Edelstein said. It celebrates the “art of food,” she added.
“The goal of the event is to allow diners to experience new dishes, close to home,” Edelstein said.
“We hope that after lunch or dinner, attendees will take a springtime stroll in the sculpture garden in Weeden Park,” she said.
The sculptures in Weeden Park were created by a group of artists known as the Artists of the Motor Exhibits Building at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton Township.
The sculptures were installed in Weeden Park in October 2018, and will be on display for one year. The goal of the sculpture garden is to draw visitors to Main Street, which is the business district in the historic village of Lawrenceville.
