USS Avenger science fiction group to discuss ‘The Orville’ at North Brunswick Library April 14

William Shatner

The USS Avenger, a science fiction fan association based in central New Jersey, will hold its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. on April 14 at the North Brunswick Library, 880 Hermann Road, North Brunswick.

Founded in 1985, the USS Avenger—a chapter of Starfleet, the International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc.—has provided fans interested in science fiction, fantasy, science and space exploration with a social organization through which they can share their interests and build friendships with like-minded individuals.

This month, the meeting will offer attendees a chance to discuss the second season of the science fiction series “The Orville,” a “Star Trek”-like show created by and starring Seth MacFarlane.

The Avenger is also seeking new members. As a special offer, any individuals who join Starfleet and the chapter at the meeting will have their choice of a free “Star Trek” novel, while supplies last. For persons who join the Starfleet organization, membership in the USS Avenger chapter is free.
