NORTH BRUNSWICK – After an undefeated season, the 2018-19 Linwood Middle School boys’ basketball team has been recognized for its talent, dedication and determination.

Eighth graders Timi Bolaji, Jaylen Claggett, Anthony De Jesus, Frankie Garbolino, Richard Hill, Tamir Jenkins, Yasir Johnson, Jurmire Jones, Zachary Konstantinovsky, Andrew Koprowski, Cameron Piggee and Jayden Young; seventh grader Bryan Yu; and sixth graders Jack Garbolino, Jebron Harris, Carson Kelly and Donovan Piggee are coached by Jim Gottschalk.

Linwood finished with a 22-0 record.

The team won the Run for the Roses Tournament. Jaylen was named MVP while Frankie and Cameron were both named to the all-tournament team, according to information read during the April 1 North Brunswick Township council meeting.

This is Gottschalk’s fourth undefeated season in his coaching career within the last eight years, according to the proclamation.

“It was a just a total honor this year to coach. These guys were nothing but a pleasure in the gym and even more of a pleasure in the classroom,” Gottschalk said. “North Brunswick – one, it’s a great place to work, and two, this is what your parents, or our parents, are raising. … If this is what success looks like they’re going to be even more successful in the future.”
