Three Girl Scouts of the Central and Southern New Jersey Council, members of the MOJASPHE Service Unit, have earned their Gold Awards.

Grace Vignuolo, Bridget Bolan and Amanda Mackenzie are Ambassador Girl Scouts from Troop 80861. Grace, a current senior at Spotswood High School, focused on “Library Love” by promoting reading, using the library and its resources, enhancing literacy skills, and teaching research and citation. She worked with students at Joyce Kilmer Middle School in Milltown and held sessions for younger students at the Milltown Public Library. She hoped to create a positive impact to students in her town by serving as a young role model interested in sharing her knowledge of information literacy, according to Green.

Bridget, a current senior at Monroe Township High School, created a rosary garden at St. James the Less Church in Jamesburg. Her incentive was to teach the rosary and promote prayer. She wanted to create a safe place where people could connect more with themselves and the Lord, according to Green.

Amanda, a current senior at Monroe Township High School, established “The Friendship Initiative” by building, painting and installing a Buddy Bench at five Monroe Township elementary schools, as well as implementing a program on proper use. Each bench was placed near the playground at Applegarth, Oak Tree, Barclay Brook, Brookside and Woodland schools. Her motivation for this project was to promote kindness and inclusivity, according to Green.
