The fifth annual Purple for Pappas 5K, sponsored by The Aubrey Foundation, will hold its 2019 kickoff party beginning at 4 p.m. on April 18 at the North Brunswick Pub, 1864 Route 1 north, North Brunswick.
This will be the first opportunity to sign up for this year’s 5K, and registration will be offered at the lowest discount. Volunteers welcome to join as well.
There will be happy hour drink specials plus half-price appetizers. Live music will begin at 8 p.m.
The Purple for Pappas 5K, honoring the legacy of the late Aubrey Pappas, a teacher at Linwood Middle School, will take place at Community Park on Oct. 20. It is the Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds providing scholarships to North Brunswick Township High School and Linwood students.
