Learn about South River photographers from the 1800s

The South River Historical & Preservation Society will hold its next meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on April 24 at the South River Museum (Old School Baptist Church), 64-66 Main St., South River.
“How New Jersey Photographers Captured Life Through Portraiture” tells the stories of men and women in the 1800s.
This program, sponsored by the NJ Public Scholars Project, will be presented by historian Gary Saretzky, who will focus on 19th century New Jersey photographers based in Middlesex County. South River’s Adolph Bresslmair, Henry Van Tine, and R. Van Dyke Reid are among those included.
This program is funded by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
The program is free to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
