Meeting will discuss travel through region

On April 29, the Monmouth County Division of Planning will hold its third and final public meeting for “Moving Mindfully: Monmouth-Mercer, A Comprehensive Freight Related Transportation Study for Western Monmouth and Southern Mercer Counties.”

The meeting will be held from 7-9 p.m. (with a presentation at 7:30 p.m.) at the Stone Bridge Middle School, 1252 Yardville-Allentown Road, Upper Freehold Township, according to a press release.

This study, funded by the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, will identify short-term and long-term strategies in Allentown, Robbinsville and Upper Freehold that are intended to manage freight-related travel issues and avoid conflicts based on travel patterns, existing and projected conditions, and planned developments, according to the press release.

During the meeting, the project team will present recommendations based on data collection and analysis, and public input provided at meetings, focus groups, and through the project website.

Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions and to provide input and comment on display boards. The final report will provide recommendations that ease congestion and promote a safe traveling environment for all road travelers, according to the press release.
