Monmouth Park set for season opener on Saturday, May 4

Monmouth Park launches its 74th season of Thoroughbred racing on Saturday, May 4, with an eight-race card that features the $100,000 Cliff Hanger Stakes – the first of 64 stakes races worth $7.1 million.

The 61-day meet will again be headlined by the $1 million TVG.com Haskell Invitational, which is switching from its usual Sunday slot to Saturday, July 20.

Overall, there will be 12 graded stakes races, with purses expected to average approximately $500,000 per day.

Gates open at 8 a..m. during the week and at 10 a.m. on weekdays.
