Holmdel High students receive film awards

HOLMDEL – Residents gathered to watch 13 short films put together by students from the Holmdel High School Television and Film Society on April 26 at the Holmdel High School Film Festival.

The following are films that received awards at the competition;

1st Place: Repeat by Jess D’Agostino and Jon D’Agostino

2nd Place: From Studio to Stage by Casey Driscoll

3rd Place: Hard Times by Lucas Crain

People’s Choice Award: The Tale of the Maiden’s Map by Jack Sammut

Roger Benedict Award for excellence in digital photography:  M.I.A. by Joe Giordano and Kevin Martinez

In attendance were organizers of the Monmouth Film Festival, a non-profit organization that aims to promote collaboration and networking among filmmaker. The festival, now in its fourth year, was founded by Holmdel High School Class of 2013 member Nick Marchese.

The films “Hard Times” and “Repeat” were also selected to take part in the Monmouth Film Festival from Aug. 8-11 at the Two River Theater in Red Bank.
