Himani Jani of Marlboro was among 162 student researchers who presented their work at New York Institute of Technology’s “SOURCE” (Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression), sponsored by NYIT College of Arts and Sciences. Himani presented “Connexin 43 Mutations Effect Brain Myelination,” a team effort, working under Professor Randy F. Stout Jr. in NYIT’s Department of Biomedical Sciences. This year’s 16th SOURCE took place at NYIT’s New York City campus, at Columbus Circle.

The following area residents have been elected to Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest academic honor society, through the Delta of New Jersey chapter at The College of New Jersey, Ewing: from Manalapan – Janmejay Hingu and Tanushi Upadhyay; and from Morganville – Kiira Jeffers.

Lara Atry of Morganville was involved in a production of “Mr. Burns: a Post-Electric Play” at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa., from Feb. 20-24. “Mr. Burns” is a three-act play that fluctuates between hyper-realism, shows-within-a-show and a fully realized “Simpsons” operetta. Lara was an assistant director for the production.

Evan Schultz of Colts Neck was a cast member in a production of “Mr. Burns: a Post-Electric Play” at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa., from Feb. 20-24. “Mr. Burns” is a three-act play that fluctuates between hyper-realism, shows-within-a-show and a fully realized “Simpsons” operetta.

Amar Naboulsi of Morganville was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest all-discipline collegiate honor society. Amar is pursuing a degree in exercise science at Salisbury University, Salisbury, Md.

Matthew Magliozzi of Marlboro, a student at the State University of New York, Oneonta, N.Y., has been inducted into the Tau Sigma National Honor Society, which is designed exclusively for transfer students and seeks to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students. Matthew is studying childhood education.
