MONROE – A man from Delaware was charged on May 14 in the fatal collision that caused the death of a woman on May 13.
Manuel Oscar Dominguez-Valdez, 48, of Wilmington, Delaware, was charged with one count of causing a death while driving with a suspended license, a crime of third degree. In addition, a motor vehicle summons was issued to Manuel Oscar Dominguez-Valdez for driving with a suspended license, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Monroe Township Police Chief Michael Biennas.
An investigation by Officer Daniel Mosakowski of the Monroe Township Police Department, and Detective Mark Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, determined that on May 13, Dominguez-Valdez was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram truck when he reportedly struck a Ford Fusion attempting to make a left turn across Forsgate Drive. The impact resulted in the death of the passenger in the Ford Fusion, police said.
The victim, Brenda Ness, of Monroe, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The 74-year-old male driver of the Ford was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.
