JACKSON – During its meeting on June 3, the Planning Board is expected to hear further testimony regarding an application that proposes the construction of 35 single-family homes and eight apartments on Whitesville Road, Jackson.
The applicant, Denton Pines, is seeking municipal approval for 39 lots described as follows: 35 new single-family residential lots, one lot for an existing home, one affordable housing lot with eight apartments, one recreation lot and one storm water management basin lot.
Attorney Ray Shea, planner Ian Borden and traffic engineer John Rea represented Denton Pines at the board’s May 6 and began presenting the application.
The 21-acre property is in Jackson’s RG-2 zone. The applicant is proposing a density of two units per acre where three units per acre is the maximum density permitted.
According to the testimony, the apartments will be constructed in two buildings containing four apartments each. The applicant said the proposal conforms to the zoning requirements. The applicant has not indicated if the apartments would be sold or rented.
Rea said the traffic impact analysis consisted of data that was collected during visits to Denton Lane and Whitesville Road, as well as projections of traffic volumes from the proposed Denton Pines units and future projections as a result of ongoing projects in the area.
The Denton Pines application was carried to the board’s June 3 meeting.
