Lawrence Township voters will go to the polls June 4 to choose candidates for an array of elected offices in the Democratic and Republican party primaries.
The polling locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The winners will face each other in the Nov. 5 general election.
Voters will be asked to nominate candidates for three Lawrence Township Council seats – both Democrats and Republicans.
Incumbent Lawrence Township Council members Michael Powers and Cathleen Lewis and their running mate, John Ryan, are running unopposed in the Democratic Party primary, and Robert Pluta, Eric Jaszewski and Joseph Vinch are running without opposition in the Republican Party primary.
There are some decisions to be made, however, in the 15th Legislative District. Democratic Party voters will choose from among three candidates for two seats in the General Assembly.
Incumbent Assembly members Verlina Reynolds-Jackson and Anthony Verelli are running on the regular Democratic ticket. Alex Bethea is running in the Democratic primary on the Integrity Transparency Accountability ticket.
On the Republican Party side, Jennifer Williams is running alone for one of two seats in the General Assembly.
At the Mercer County level, incumbent Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes is running unopposed for the Democratic Party’s nomination for Mercer County Executive, and Lishian Lisa Wu is running unopposed for the Republican Party’s nomination.
And at the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders, incumbent Democratic Freeholders Andrew Koontz and Nina Melker are running unopposed for their party’s nod.
The Republican Party is not fielding candidates for the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
