Farmers’ Market returns to Bordentown City

The Bordentown City Farmers’ Market is back this year.

The 10th year will be celebrated with a new market manager in Hillery Lamb and  an assistant manager in Sruti Desai.

The market is open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Carslake Community Center, which is located at 207 Crosswicks Street in Bordentown City.

The season runs from June 2 to Sept. 29, and the market’s organizers welcome all communities to come and enjoy the event.

The market’s organizers said their mission for the market is to provide a location where farmers can directly distribute their fresh, locally grown produce to the community, as well as create an inviting space for food vendors, musicians, and other local artists to promote and support sustainable food systems.

The market was started in 2010 by a group of volunteers and has continued since to become a staple place in the heart of the Bordentown community. While the location has changed over time and the foot traffic can be contingent on weather, the group’s organizers said they are confident that with a little bit of love and a whole lot of teamwork, the market will strive.

The group said they were happy to welcome back returning vendors and are excited bring in new ones. The group’s organizers said their aim is to diversify the market offerings so that everyone walks away with something.

With farmers, food vendors and food trucks feeding your belly and musicians, artists and artisans feeding your soul, a visit to the market is a must.
