Arc of Monmouth names executive director

Robert Angel of Holmdel was appointed executive director of The Arc of Monmouth, effective immediately.

Having served on board of directors for the past four years, Angel stepped in as acting executive director in March and will continue in the position moving forward.

Angel has served as CEO of a large public hospital in his native England and more recently as president and CEO of a global medical device company headquartered in New Jersey, according to the organization.

“Bob Angel has a deep understanding of the complexities of the various healthcare delivery systems and has consistently demonstrated a robust commitment to The Arc, its staff and the people we serve. The leadership, development and management experience he brings will serve this agency well,” Father Hank Hilton, president of The Arc’s Board of Directors, said in a prepared statement.

The Arc of Monmouth is the largest provider of services and supports for individuals with Down syndrome, autism, and other forms of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in Monmouth County, according to the organization.

The Arc provides a lifelong continuum of services for more than 1,600 individuals in locations throughout the county, which includes group homes, independent and assisted living apartments, center- and community-based employment programs, behavioral healthcare, adult day programs, college achievement classes, recreation and family support services.
