MILLSTONE – The Township Committee in Millstone Township has renewed an agreement with the local school district that will continue to allow school board meetings to appear online during the 2019-20 school year.
On July 17, committee members authorized a shared services agreement that permits Millstone Township K-8 School District Board of Education meetings to be uploaded to and viewed on the township’s website.
The agreement will be effective from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020. The school board will be charged up to $35 for each board meeting video that is uploaded.
The 2019-20 school year will be the second year school board meetings will be uploaded to the township’s website at millstonenj.gov/video-library.html
In other business, committee members authorized Millstone to participate in intra-county mutual aid and assistance agreements with participating units in Monmouth County.
According to a resolution, the mutual aid and assistance agreements include law enforcement, public works, emergency medical services, emergency management, human services, hazardous materials response units, technical or special operations teams, Community Emergency Response Team members, Medical Reserve Corps members or other volunteers, and other jurisdictions from local governments.
Committee members also adopted an update of the township’s emergency operations plan for 2019. The plan was approved by the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, to which Millstone officials are required to submit a plan every four years to be re-certified after initial review and approval, according to a resolution.
Deputy Mayor Nancy Grbelja and committeemen Michael Kuczinski and Gary Dorfman voted in favor of the actions that were taken on July 17. Mayor Fiore Masci and Committeeman Al Ferro were absent from the meeting.
