CBA earns statewide distinction for athletic excellence

Christian Brothers Academy was named this month as one of six recipients of the 2018 ShopRite Cup.

The Cup, awarded by New Jersey ShopRite stores and the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, honors Garden State athletic programs for performing well in state championship tournaments and for exercising good sportsmanship.

The New Jersey State Interscholastic League is the governing body for scholastic sports in the state.

For winning the award, CBA received a banner and a ShopRite Cup trophy. A congratulatory banner will also be displayed in the Middletown ShopRite.

The ShopRite Cup started in 2004 and goes to six winning schools each year, four public and two private. The selections are a result of performance in the 31 NJSIAA sanctioned sports.

The other winning schools were Ridge High School, Moorestown High School, Highland Park High School and Haddonfield Memorial High School for public schools and joining CBA in the private division was Immaculata High School.
