Play Golf with Hall of Famer Jan Stephenson at Forsgate

LPGA legend Jan Stephenson, who earlier this month was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, will be at Forsgate Country Club on July 20 to participate in a day that includes a golf clinic, tournament on the historic Banks Course, and a cocktail reception and tasting of Jan’s signature wines and rums.

The club in Monroe Township is offering non-members a limited number of playing spots in the tournament, as well as the reception only, and reservations are now being accepted.

“Jan is one of the LPGA’s greatest players and we’re looking forward to having her here to participate in a clinic, golf tournament and a reception that will feature a tasting of selections from the Jan Stephenson wine label and flavored rums,” said Chris Schiavone, managing partner of Forsgate Country Club.  “This is a great opportunity for our members and the public to spend a day with Jan and celebrate her recent induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame.”

There are two packages available for non-members: 1) The golf clinic, 18-hole tournament on the Banks Course, lunch, cocktail reception and tasting for $160.00 per person (plus tax); or

2) The reception only for $85.00 (plus tax).  Net proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit Jan Stephenson’s Crossroads Foundation, which supports combat wounded, blind/disabled veterans and first responders.  For further details, contact Carolyn Andrews at (732) 656-8953 or cmckenzieandrews@forsgatecc.com.

During her illustrious career, Stephenson won 16 LPGA titles and three majors, including the 1983 U.S. Women’s Open and the 1982 LPGA Championship.

In all, the native Australian captured 41 worldwide professional wins.  She currently plays select tournaments on the LPGA Legends Tour.  Stephenson received The Order of Australia Medal for her contributions to the game of golf and her global fund-raising efforts for non-profits.  She is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
