NORTH BRUNSWICK – A U.S. Marine veteran has joined the North Brunswick Police Department via the alternate route.
Brandon Potter served with the Marines from June 2010 to May 2014. He was deployed to Afghanistan and Korea. He received the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
“He has such dedication and he really wanted to be a police officer that he put himself through the police academy and so his training for that aspect is completed already,” Police Director Kenneth McCormick said during Potter’s swearing in ceremony during the North Brunswick Township Council meeting on Aug. 5.
Potter attended Morehead State University in Kentucky, Raritan Valley Community College and Caldwell University. He was a general contractor and installer of TV surveillance systems prior to joining the police department.
He recently graduated from the Cape May County Police Academy.
His father, Brian, is a retired sergeant with the New Jersey State Police.
