Strand Theater will present Woodstock 2019

Music fans are invited to attend Woodstock 2019, an all-day festival to be presented at the Strand Theater, 400 Clifton Ave., Lakewood, on Aug. 24.

Lori Davis, the front of house manager at the Strand, said there will be music, vendors and food trucks beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing until 10 p.m. Performances will take place inside the theater and parking is available nearby. To purchase tickets for Woodstock 2019, visit www.strand.org

Performers at Woodstock 2019 will be the Invincible Band from Music University; VyntEdge (performing Jefferson Airplane); Krystal (The Who); Raw Sugar (Creedence Clearwater Revival); Bell Bottom Blues (Blind Faith and Derek and the Dominos); Families Recipies (Jimi Hendrix); Kevin Mulvaney and Friends (The Band and Joe Cocker); Miranda Krall (Melanie, Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez); and Killer Joe (soul music from Woodstock).

Vendors at the event will include JB Coutures Cupcakes in Belmar; Jersey Girl Barefoot Sandal; Henna Tattoos by Kaitlyn Taisma; CT Marco Oils; Terry’s Dog Treats and more.

Clifton Avenue will be closed for food trucks, including Caribbean Soul; Jersey Chili Dogs/Root Beer Floats; and Suzy’s Ices.

Woodstock 2019 has been organized by Lori Davis and Fran Whitney from the Strand Theater.

The Strand’s event is a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock music festival that was held from Aug. 15-18, 1969 in upstate New York. More than 400,000 people converged in Bethel, N.Y., for the event which was memorialized in a 1970 documentary and an album.
