Elmwood Cemetery to launch phase two of chapel restoration

Volunteers search for grave markers to place wreaths as the North Brunswick Township World War I Centennial Committee and Elmwood Cemetery participated in Wreaths Across America to commemorate the men and women who gave their lives during World War I who are now laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, on Dec 15.

Elmwood Cemetery will launch phase two of its chapel restoration with a celebration at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the cemetery, 425 Georges Road, North Brunswick.

Experts will educate about the new stained glass windows that will be installed in the chapel.

Meals on Wheels will be honored for its work in the community.

The Highland Park Cantabile Chorale will perform.

Then, at 10 a.m. on Sept. 21, there will be a rededication and ribbon cutting ceremony at the Parker Family Monument. The Parker family founded Parker Home. The family, Parker Home staff and board members will be at the ribbon cutting as well as Marco Federico from Materials Conservation, the conservators of the monument.

The monument is significant statuary.
