Garden Club of Metuchen to kick off fall season on Sept. 9

The Garden Club of Metuchen kicks off its fall season on Sept. 9 with its annual “Summer Harvest Show and Tell” at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Fryer Hall, 17 Oak Ave., Metuchen. The meeting begins at 6:45 p.m. with light refreshments, followed by the program at 7.

In addition to plant and seed sharing, the main program consists of a slideshow of members’ gardens or gardens they’ve visited, accompanied by refreshments using seasonal produce and herbs.

The coming season will feature programs such as Backyard Bird Feeding; Victorian House Plants; Creating New Jersey-Friendly Yards with Native Plants; Backyard Cutting Gardens; and Houseplants, Especially Orchids.

New members are welcome.
