The Larry Helwig Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Sept. 16 at Tamarack Golf Course, 97 Hardenburg Lane, East Brunswick.
Helwig taught physical education in the Sayreville School District for more than 30 years. He was a football, wrestling and golf coach. He also taught driver’s education. He retired in 2003.

In 2017, Helwig lost his life in an automobile accident.
The funds raised during the golf outing will be used for a scholarship for a Sayreville War Memorial High School senior golf team member.
