The plaque and flagpole were donated by George Harms Construction, Clayton Concrete, Brent Materials and Pantaleo Electric, the companies that were involved in the completion of the Route 130 overpass, to honor those who died on Sept. 11, 2001. The plaque was originally dedicated on July 2, 2003.
