JAMESBURG–The Borough Council adopted an ordinance amending the borough code to establish the alleyway between Hooker Street and Vine Street as a one-way.

Borough Administrator Scott Frueh said the owner of the property formerly known as Body and Soul wants to pave the alleyway and use it as a parking area for staff and clients.

The council approved the ordinance on Aug. 21.

Frueh said the alleyway is a safety issue that was brought up by the borough’s Land Use Board.

There were no one-way signs put in place, which would have to be put up by the owner, according to Frueh.
