sMiles for Katie will hold its fourth annual “PHundraiser” from 7-11 p.m. on Oct. 4 at Vibe Tap & Grill, 2870 Route 35, Hazlet.

Katie McCarthy was diagnosed in August 2012 with primary pulmonary hypertension. The pressure on the lung arteries and heart’s right ventricle eventually causes the heart to fail. Katie passed away on April 30, 2013.
