Township Committee 

Beth Anne Kafasis, Cranbury Public Library’s operations administrator, was honored for her 25 years of service with a proclamation at a Sept. 9 committee meeting.

“It has been my privilege. Thank you very much for this proclamation. I am very honored,” she said.

Kafasis said at the meeting she does not have any plans to retire just yet.

In 2006, Kafasis was given the Libraries of Middlesex Library Employee of the Year Award.

Lit Crosswalks 

Lit Crosswalks set to be established in town have been delayed slightly. Crosswalks for Old Trenton Road and Liedtke Drive are estimated to be put it in the next couple months, according to officials.

Township News Alerts

Committeeman Mike Ferrante said at the Sept. 9 township committee meeting that during Cranbury Day on Sept. 7, the township registered about 30 people for the township news alerts.

He said those who have not signed up for the new alerts can do so on the township website at www.cranburytownship.org.

Mayor James Taylor

Mayor James Taylor said he is no longer associating with the Cranbury Democratic Committee. He said he is still a democrat, but will have no association with the democratic leadership in town.

“Other than the courtesy of professional things that I have to reach out the the party chair for x, y and z issues, I will do that. I am not having any political discussions with the Cranbury Democratic party,” Taylor said.

He said this decision comes about due to a Defund Hate rally held on Sept. 11 by Indivisible Cranbury. The date of the rally, he said, was the issue and he asked democratic leadership in town to speak out on the date and had been concerned with the silence of party leadership officials.

Brickyard Road 

Township officials at a Sept. 9 committee meeting announced that Brickyard Road improvements will be delayed to 2020.

The project would reconstruct the road.

Cranbury Township Auction

Cranbury Township will have a public auction sale of surplus township of Cranbury property that is no longer needed.

Officials said the auction will be held over the internet and begin on Sept.14.

The auction will be from Sept. 14-19.

Officials said bidders are required to electronically register for bidding at the website below.
