Hopewell police blotter

A 23-year-old Bedminster man was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Margate Municipal Court following a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation on Pennington Road at 7:34 p.m. on Sept. 6. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons.

A 23-year-old Chicago, Ill., man has been charged with theft by deception after a Hopewell Township resident provided a deposit for an apartment through an online advertisement. The victim did not hear back from the man after she wired him the money. Police were able to trace him back to Chicago, and issued the summons on Sept. 3.

A 20-year-old Trenton woman was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Federal City Road at 3:08 p.m. on Sept. 2.

A 22-year-old Parlin man was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (LSD) and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Route 31 at 8:32 p.m. on Sept. 8. He was a passenger in the car that was stopped by police.

A Columbia Avenue resident reported the theft of a bicycle, valued at $400, from the front yard. The theft occurred sometime after 4 p.m. on Aug. 29.

Someone stole a scooter, valued at $80, from the front yard of a Columbia Avenue home some time after 6 p.m. on Sept. 2.

A 59-year-old Hamilton Township man has been charged with theft by deception for accepting a deposit to perform work on a Hopewell Township residence June 11, but not following through with the job. The summons was issued on Sept. 5.
