Tri-Town News On Campus, Sept. 25

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, announced that the following area residents graduated on May 21, 2019, earning degrees ranging from associates to doctorates: Jon Bryceland of Jackson, Jared Vollmann of Howell, Alexandria Berns of Jackson, Ashley Pagnotta of Howell, Makenzie Staffordsmith of Jackson, Dashaun Williams of Jackson, Olivia Coleman of Howell, Hailey Weigel of Jackson and Emily Kotch of Howell.

Juliette Porcelli of Jackson was among the 75 University of Scranton, Pa., students who studied abroad during the Summer 2019 semester. Juliette, who is an accounting major at Scranton, participated in the university’s travel course, “Saints and Sinners in Nazi Germany” in Berlin, Germany.

Paul Gahr of Jackson is a member of the 2019 Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pa., Marching Unit. The marching unit provides music, marching and entertainment for all Golden Bears football games, select away games, marching band festivals/competitions, professional sporting events, parades and campus spirit building activities. Paul has also been named to the Jazz Ensemble for 2019-2020. The Jazz Ensembles will rehearse throughout the fall semester, leading up to their fall performances on Nov. 21 and Dec. 5.

Jackson Becce of Farmingdale was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 GPA for the 2019 spring semester at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Jackson is majoring in geography and international relations with a concentration in international development and a minor in sustainability. He will be interning for the new Select Committee on the Climate Crisis in the fall. Jackson is a graduate of Colts Neck High School.

Jacob Hoglund of Howell, a member of the Class of 2022 at Colgate University, Hamilton, N.Y., has earned the spring 2019 Dean’s Award with Distinction. Jacob is a graduate of Biotechnology High School, Freehold Township.
