FREEHOLD – Members of the Borough Council in Freehold Borough have authorized a license agreement with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Throckmorton Street, which will permit the church to connect a new storm water pipe into an existing storm water system as part of an expansion project.
Council members took action on Oct. 7 that will permit the church to use a portion of borough property. The Planning Board recently approved a plan submitted by St. Peter’s to upgrade and expand its existing structures.
According to a resolution, part of the development plan approved by the board includes a storm water pipe connection into an existing municipal storm water system in a borough parking lot that is adjacent to the church.
The council granted a license to St. Peter’s to install the storm water pipe to connect to the storm water system.
The resolution states the council determined the proposed improvements will be an improvement to the downtown area; will allow St. Peter’s to better serve the community; will improve drainage in the area; will provide for a cleaner and improved treatment of storm water; and will benefit the general public.
St. Peter’s will be responsible for maintenance of the storm water pipe.
In other business, council members authorized the purchase of self-contained breathing apparatus from Mine Safety Appliance (Witmer Public Safety Group) at a maximum cost of $39,750.
Finally, council members appointed Anthony Guglielmo and Edward T. Mirkin as probationary members of the Freehold Fire Department, Good Will Hook and Ladder Company.
