SPOTSWOOD–Seeking to help enhance Memorial Park, Spotswood Troop 35 Boy Scout Robert Kwiatkowski will replace several park benches as part of his Eagle Scout Project.

Robert, who will turn 18 at the end of the month, has been a Boy Scout for about seven years and was a Cub Scout for five years.

To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, Robert said that for his project he will be replacing, removing and refurbishing six benches around the tennis court at the Spotswood War Memorial, located at 75 Summerhill Road. He said he will also be repainting the shed neighboring Spotswood High School uses to house its tennis equipment.
“With talking to a contact at the township, my scout leaders, and with me being a student at the high school, it seemed fitting to replace some benches and beautify the area,” Robert said.
Having received monetary donations for his project, Robert said he has also received material donations from local businesses.
Although it is his job to lead the project and coordinate the work, Robert said most of the actual physical work will be done by volunteers from his boy scout troop, family and friends.
