Area scholastic football teams secure state playoff berths

The regular season has finished for New Jersey high school football teams across the state.

Area teams found out on Nov. 3 where they will be heading when the NJSIAA sectional playoffs begin this coming weekend, Nov. 8-9.

Here is a roundup of area teams and where they are competing in either the state playoffs or the consolation games.

Monmouth Regional High School: Monmouth (0-8) has not qualified for postseason play from South Jersey, Group 3. A home consolation game has been scheduled for Nov. 7 against Governor Livingston High School of Berkeley Heights.

Red Bank Catholic High School: RBC (5-3) qualified for one of the 10 spots in Non-Public, Group 3. Red Bank Catholic has a bye and will await for an opponent for a Nov. 22 home matchup at 7 p.m. in the Non-Public, Group 3 playoffs.

Red Bank Regional High School: Red Bank Regional (5-3) has qualified in South Jersey, Group 3. It will be on the road to face Holmdel on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the South Jersey, Group 3 playoffs.

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School: Rumson-Fair Haven (4-4) has a home matchup against Delsea Regional High School on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m in the Central Jersey, Group 3 playoffs.

Shore Regional High School: Shore (3-5) has a road contest against Haddonfield Memorial High School on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the South Jersey, Group 2 playoffs.

Allentown High School: Allentown (4-4) did not secure one of the 16 qualifying spots for  South Jersey, Group 3. Allentown has a home consolation game against Matawan on Nov. 7 at 5 p.m.

Matawan Regional High School: Matawan (4-4) is not of 16 teams that qualified for South Jersey, Group 3. Matawan heads on the road for a consolation game against Allentown on Nov. 7 at 5 p.m.

Raritan High School: Raritan (5-3) is on the road against Timber Creek Regional High School on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Central Jersey, Group 3 playoffs.

Holmdel High School: Holmdel (5-3) has qualified as one of 16 teams in South Jersey, Group 3. Holmdel has a home matchup against Red Bank Regional on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the South Jersey, Group 3 playoff.

St. John Vianney High School: St. John Vianney (4-4) is in Non-Public, Group 3. St. John Vianney heads on the road to face Donovan Catholic High School on Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Non-Public, Group 3 playoffs.

Keyport High School: Keyport (2-6) did not qualify as one of 16 teams in South Jersey, Group 1. Keyport’s consolation game is a home matchup on Nov. 9 against South Hunterdon Regional High School at 1 p.m.

Middletown High School North: Middletown North (4-4) heads onto the road against Toms River High School East on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Central Jersey, Group 4 playoffs.

Middletown High School South: Middletown South (3-4) is home and faces Hamilton High School West on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Central Jersey, Group 4 playoffs.

Mater Dei Prep High School: Mater Dei (6-3) is set to play in the postseason as one of the teams selecting to participate in the Non-Public, Group 3 playoff field. Mater Dei will play Pope John XXIII Regional High School on Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Non-Public, Group 3 playoffs.

Colts Neck High School: Colts Neck (7-2) was unable to secure one of the final remaining spots to qualify for the South Jersey, Group 4 playoff field. Colts Neck has a home consolation game on Nov. 9 against Central Regional High School at 12 p.m.

Manalapan High School: Manalapan (5-3) has a home contest against Cherokee High School on Nov. 8 at 7p.m. for the Central Jersey, Group 5 playoffs.

Freehold High School: Freehold (2-7) did not secure a spot for this postseason from the South Jersey, Group 4 section. Freehold has decided not to play in a consolation game, due to playing an extra game in the regular season.

Freehold Township High School: Freehold Township (2-7) has not qualified for the postseason out of the South Jersey, Group 5 section. Freehold Township on Nov. 7 will face Franklin High School on the road for a consolation game at 7 p.m.

Marlboro High School: Marlboro (3-6) did not secure one of 16 spots for postseason play in South Jersey, Group 5. Marlboro’s consolation game is in Toms River on Nov. 7 against Toms River High School South at 7 p.m.

Howell High School: Howell (0-9) did not qualify for the postseason out of South Jersey, Group 5. Howell has a road consolation game against Perth Amboy High School on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.

JacksonMemorial High School. Jackson Memorial has a home contest this week against Moorestown High School on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Central Jersey, Group 4 playoffs.

Jackson Liberty High School: Jackson Liberty (1-7) has not qualified for the postseason out of South Jersey, Group 3. Jackson Liberty has a road consolation game on Nov. 7 against Pinelands Regional High School at 6 p.m.
