Christian Shave of Howell has been named to the spring 2019 dean’s list at The Citadel, Charleston, S.C. In addition, Christian was awarded gold stars for spring 2019. Gold stars are awarded to cadets and students who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher.

Juhi Maggu of Jackson, a doctor of pharmacy student in Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences, received a white coat during a recent ceremony. The ceremony is an annual rite of passage for students in their first professional year (third year) of USciences’ six-year pharmacy program and symbolizes their dedication to the profession of pharmacy and to the care of others.

During the summer of 2019, more than 400 University of Delaware, Newark, Del., undergraduate students worked on research projects in disciplines all across the university and in the community. The students collaborated with their faculty mentors and, in many cases, with other undergraduates and graduate students, learning how original research takes place and creating new knowledge. Area students who participated were Rachael Passantino of Howell, Sierra Enea of Howell and Rachel Northrup of Jackson.

Katrina Zangrillo of Jackson, a student at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., will take the stage in the Tony Award-winning musical “Nine.” Performances will take place Nov. 14-17 at Wilkes’ Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts. Katrina will be playing the role of Mama Maddelena and Lady of the Spa.
