Michelle Talks Real Estate: KEEP YOUR CARD IN YOUR WALLET

There is an extremely important rule when
you are financing a home purchase with a
mortgage & that is to leave your credit cards
alone until you close. Do not apply for new
credit, don’t do credit checks & don’t buy
anything with credit. If you buy, use cash &
make sure that if it’s a big cash purchase, it
doesn’t affect the amount you have saved
for your down payment & closing costs. This
rule is due to 2 factors, your credit score &
your debt-to-income ratio. Having been preapproved
for a loan does not mean that you
are in the clear. You can be turned down for a
mortgage at any time until you are cleared to
close.

My considerable experience can be invaluable
during your buying or selling real estate
process. Knowledgeable assistance is crucial
during this time and you can be assured that
I will be with you all the way. I’ve been in the
business of helping buyers & sellers make
good decisions for many years and I’d like
to help you too. Calling my office at 1199
Amboy Ave, Edison for an appointment is
a good start!

HINT: Studies show that many people
increase their credit card spending before
closing on their new home. Don’t do it.
Your finances are under scrutiny until you
actually close.
