Atlantic Hub school board elections results

Voters in Eatontown, Red Bank, Tinton Falls, Fair Haven, Rumson, Shrewsbury Township and Shrewsbury Borough went to the polls on Nov. 5 and elected members of the school boards in their respective municipalities.

The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office has posted results from the election on its website. All of the results are unofficial until they are certified by the county. The totals as of Nov. 11 do not include provisional ballots that were cast at polling places on Election Day.

Eatontown 

Four residents were seeking three three-year terms on the Eatontown Public Schools Board of Education. As of Nov. 11, the results show Karen Zaletel (1,085 votes), Nelson Ortiz (1,097 votes) and Lori Flynn (1,449 votes) leading Janine Frederick (943).

Running unopposed for a one-year unexpired term on the board, Carl Lawson received 1,723 votes.

Red Bank Regional High School

Running unopposed for three seats on the Red Bank Regional High School Board of Education, Emily A. Doherty (1,325 votes), Diane Davis (1,323 votes) and Irwin Katz (1,264 voters), all of Red Bank, won the three-year terms.

Red Bank

Running unopposed for three three-year terms on the Red Bank Borough Public Schools Board of Education, Suzanne Viscomi (1,321 votes), Erik Perry (1,285 votes) and Benedict J. Forest (1,332 votes) won the terms.

Jennifer Herold Garcia ran unopposed for a one-year unexpired term on the board and collected 1,394 votes.

Tinton Falls

Running unopposed for three three-year terms on the Tinton Falls School District Board of Education, John T. Livingood (2,610 votes), Christopher Theobald (2,737 votes) and Teena Patel (2,780 votes) won the terms.

Monmouth Regional High School District

Eatontown resident Mary Anne Linder ran unopposed for a seat on the Monmouth Regional High School District Board of Education and received 1,669 votes as of Nov. 11 to win the seat representing her municipality.

In Tinton Falls, two seats were available on the regional school board. Only one resident, Sharon C. Wisdom, filed a nominating petition. She received 2,964 votes on Election Day.

The second seat representing Tinton Falls may be filled by a write-in candidate. According to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, James J. Convery and William Regan each received six write-in votes. It was not known on Nov. 11 what the final outcome of that race would be.

Fair Haven

Running unopposed for three three-year terms on the Fair Haven Public Schools Board of Education, Carol Lang (1,104 votes), Marisa Coar (1,054 votes) and Sheri D’Angelo (1,068 votes) won the seats.

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School 

Running unopposed and winning two three-year terms on the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional Board of Education as Rumson representatives were Katherine Thompson (1,102 votes) and Jane R. Pattwell (1,104 votes).

Running unopposed and winning a three-year term, Fair Haven resident Anthony Leland received 1,107 votes.

Fair Haven resident Eileen R. Hickey ran unopposed for a one-year unexpired term and received 1,118 votes.

Rumson

Running unopposed and winning three three-year terms on the Rumson School District Board of Education were Scott Caldwell (1,099 votes), Stacy Izzo (1,099 votes) and Tara D’Uva (1,084 votes).

Shrewsbury Borough

Running unopposed and winning three three-year terms on the Shrewsbury Borough School District Board of Education were Karen Hepburg-Goldbern (713 votes), Jessica Groom (717 votes) and Carolyn Barber (718 voters).

Red Bank Referendum

The Red Bank Borough Public Schools Board of Education posed a $6.75 million question on the Nov. 5 ballot and asked residents to approve repairs and improvements at the Red Bank Primary School and the Red Bank Middle School. As of Nov. 11, voters had approved the referendum with 1,304 “yes” votes to 612 “no” votes.

Rumson Referendum

Voters in Rumson approved a $25.7 million referendum for improvements at the Deane-Porter Elementary School and the Forrestdale School. Voters approved the referendum 930 “yes” to 556 “no.”
